UV bulbs contain a small amount of mercury and in the event of damage, protection is necessary against release of mercury vapour and potential skin exposure. In accordance with Guidance Note EH17 (revised) from the Health and Safety Executive, users of UV light are advised to have a mercury spillage kit available and prominently located within the working environment where the UV light equipment is operated.
