The smallest amount of hydrocarbon contamination (oil or grease) within an oxygen vessel or connecting pipe work can result in catastrophic consequences. It is literally and explosive mixture.

Most hydrocarbons will naturally fluoresce under UV blacklight illumination and therefore this process is absolutely essential for all oxygen vessel and plant manufacturers.

UV blacklight lamps for quality control in carpet manufacturing

UV blacklight is used to detect the presence of oils on finished carpet, which can result from machinery problems. Often oil contamination is invisible to the naked eye and would not be evident until the carpet is purchased, fitted and in daily use. The problem will become apparent when the carpet is walked over because dirt will be attracted to the oil resulting in localized spoiling.
